About Gateway Academy

Education is most meaningful when it inspires students to think independently, explore their abilities and develop a sense of responsibility towards society. Beyond academic knowledge, schools have an important role in nurturing creativity, confidence, discipline and the values that shape individuals throughout their lives.

Gateway Academy, located in Old Sinamangal-32, Kathmandu, is a private, co-educational institution established in 2004 (2061 B.S.). The school provides education from Grade 1 to Grade 12 and follows the curriculum prescribed by the National Examinations Board (NEB).

The institution aims to create a learning environment that recognises individual differences and encourages students to realise their potential. Its educational philosophy is based on the belief that every learner has distinctive abilities and deserves appropriate attention, encouragement and opportunities for development.

Gateway Academy views education as more than the acquisition of information. It emphasises developing a genuine interest in knowledge, encouraging students to explore new ideas and preparing them to respond to the challenges and opportunities of a changing world.

The school gives importance to critical thinking, practical understanding and learning by doing. Its approach combines academic instruction with activities intended to strengthen students' intellectual, social, creative and physical abilities.

With an emphasis on academic achievement, student participation and personal development, Gateway Academy seeks to prepare learners to become competent, creative and responsible individuals capable of contributing to society.

Academic Programmes

Gateway Academy provides school-level education from Grade 1 through Grade 12 under the National Examinations Board framework. Its academic structure covers primary, lower secondary, secondary and higher secondary education.

Primary Education: Establishing a Strong Academic Foundation

Primary education is the stage at which children develop the fundamental abilities that support their future learning. Reading, writing, mathematics, communication and basic problem-solving skills form the foundation of academic development.

Gateway Academy seeks to provide an educational environment in which students can develop these essential competencies while discovering their individual interests and abilities.

Its educational philosophy emphasises individual attention and encourages students to participate actively in the learning process. Practical activities and opportunities for exploration can help young learners connect classroom concepts with everyday experiences.

Alongside academic instruction, the school gives importance to developing curiosity, discipline, cooperation and positive learning habits.

Lower Secondary Education: Developing Critical and Independent Thinking

At the lower secondary level, students begin engaging with more advanced academic concepts and develop a greater capacity for independent learning.

Gateway Academy's educational philosophy places particular emphasis on critical thinking, practicality and learning through experience. Students are encouraged to develop an understanding of their subjects rather than rely solely on memorisation.

Classroom discussions, assignments, collaborative activities and practical exercises can help learners strengthen their analytical abilities and communication skills.

The school also recognises the importance of individual differences, encouraging an educational environment in which students receive attention and opportunities according to their learning needs.

Secondary Education: Preparing for the SEE

Secondary education is an important stage in which students consolidate their academic knowledge and prepare for the Secondary Education Examination (SEE).

Gateway Academy provides education through Grade 10 under the NEB framework. The school aims to develop subject knowledge while encouraging students to become confident, disciplined and responsible learners.

At this stage, academic progress is supported by classroom instruction, assessment and opportunities to apply knowledge through practical learning.

The institution's emphasis on critical thinking and independent understanding is particularly relevant as students prepare for higher secondary education and begin considering their future academic interests.

Higher Secondary Education: Preparing for Further Studies

Gateway Academy extends its academic provision through Grades 11 and 12 under the National Examinations Board.

Higher secondary education is an important transition between school and university-level study. Students develop a deeper understanding of their chosen academic subjects while preparing for further education and professional opportunities.

The school provides higher secondary education within the NEB framework. Prospective students should contact the administration to confirm the currently available streams, subject combinations, admission requirements and academic facilities for Grades 11 and 12.

The institution's broader educational philosophy emphasises knowledge acquisition, critical thinking and preparation for future challenges.

Individual differences are also recognised as an important consideration in the learning process. The institution believes that every learner deserves attention, care and opportunities to develop their abilities.
