Overview

King’s College is a higher education institution located in Babarmahal, Kathmandu, with an academic focus on entrepreneurship, business, information technology and community-based learning. The college aims to develop graduates who can think critically, identify opportunities and contribute to social and economic development.

A central feature of its educational approach is “Community as Curriculum”—a learning philosophy that connects classroom education with practical experiences, community engagement and real-world problem-solving. Rather than limiting learning to textbooks and lectures, the college encourages students to explore ideas, work collaboratively and apply their knowledge to challenges beyond the classroom.

King’s College is affiliated with Westcliff University, USA, through which it offers undergraduate and graduate degree programmes. Its institutional approach brings together entrepreneurship, technology and community engagement to prepare students for a changing professional environment.

The college’s Community as Curriculum model connects academic learning with the needs and experiences of the wider community. Students are encouraged to engage in projects, explore real-world problems and develop solutions through teamwork and innovation.

Continuous assessment is an important part of the academic process. Depending on the programme, students participate in classroom and online discussions, prepare written assignments, deliver presentations and complete course projects. This approach is intended to assess students' learning throughout the academic term rather than relying exclusively on final examinations.
