Kathmandu - Tribhuvan University’s Central Department of Journalism and Mass Communication, in collaboration with TikTok, is set to organise a one-day TikTok Masterclass on Journalism and Digital Storytelling on October 8.
The programme aims to help students and aspiring media professionals understand the changing nature of journalism in the digital age and develop practical skills for effective digital storytelling.
The masterclass will be held from 10:30 am to 4:30 pm at the Camera Building of the department in Balkhu, Kathmandu. Experienced professionals from the communications and media sector will provide training on practical aspects of modern journalism and digital storytelling.
What Will the Masterclass Cover?
The programme will feature a range of sessions focusing on contemporary journalism and digital content creation.
A Trust and Safety session will address issues related to misinformation, responsible content creation and online safety. The programme will also include a panel discussion among media professionals on the future of journalism in the digital age.
Experienced journalists and content creators will share their newsroom experiences and insights into content production, giving participants an opportunity to learn from real-world practices.
The organisers will also conduct a Storytelling and Verification Challenge, where participants can put their learning into practice through a competitive exercise.
The winning team will be given an opportunity to visit a mainstream newsroom and observe its internal operations and working processes firsthand, according to the department.
Who Can Apply?
Students from all campuses affiliated with Tribhuvan University are eligible to apply for the masterclass.
